Cruden Bay Aberdeenshire

To the north of the bay you will find the remains of Slains castle the ancestral home of the Earls of Erroll. Cruden bay is best known as the landfall for the oil pipe line from the North Sea Forties field, the company have been especially care full to maintain the landscape of the area, a short distance from Cruden Bay lies the fishing village of Bullers of Buchan once supported by sixteen fishing boats, now observed to be a pretty sea side village, with gigantic rock formations surrounding a large basin home to an impressive sea bird population, and providing excellent rock climbing activities, The entrance to the basin is very narrow with water so turbulent it was once described as a monstrous cauldron.
