Castle, once a showpiece, has been practically dismantled. It was not of any great antiquity, but its basement with barrel-vaulted
cellars dates from 1617. The Castle originally belonged to the Keiths, and several stones bearing their arms may be seen on estate buildings, but the earlier castle was burned by Montrose in
