Findochty Real Estate

The harbour is in good shape, but is used only by lobster-boats and pleasure-craft. The spirit of the little port is symbolized by a splendid statue of a seated fisherman on the waterfront, gazing out over the waters. Inscribed on the pedestal of this modern work by Coreena Cowie are the words 'They see the works of the Lord and his wonders in the deep'. On the high land behind the town is the ruin of Findochty Castle, a rectangular tower-house with a small oblong tower attached to the N. front. It was built by Thomas Ord in the 16th cent.
