KETTERINGHAM, is a small village some 6 miles from Norwich. The  Church of St Peter, though it has a good west tower rebuilt in 1609, is mostly of interest for its monuments and brasses. It also has an octagonal font and a three-decker pulpit.

The earliest brass appears to be dated c. 1470 there is another to Sir Thomas Hevenyngham and his wife, 1499 and one to a baby who died in 1530. Among the monuments are those to Sir William and Lady Heveningham, 1678 and Edward Atkyns, 1750. Others are by the well-known sculptors Westmacott and Flaxman (Harriet Peach, 1825).The church and the adjacent thatched and timbered cottages stand in the grounds of Ketteringham Hall, now a school, but originally built in Tudor times. It was much altered in 1840-50 in the Victorian Gothic style.
