LINWOOD, Renfrewshire developed as an industrial village near the large cotton-mill built in 1792; a paper-mill was established in 1874. A large company, established here in 1947 and making a variety of railway rolling-stock and motor-car bodies, combined in 1960 with a famous car manufacturer to produce cars at Linwood.
