Strichen Aberdeenshire
Strichen lies some nine
miles from the coast on the A981 south of Fraserburgh during mid-May each year Strichen hosts the Buchan Heritage Festival from Friday through to Sunday.
The heritage Festival starts on the Saturday with competitions, accordion and fiddle music with piping and diddling bothy ballads and Doric verse well worth the visit, venues throughout the village
can be found in the White Horse Hotel and the British Legion Club and other establishments posted about nearer the time.
There is an outdoor Saturday lunchtime concert in the Square and a prize-winners concert is staged on the Saturday evening. The village also has a doctors' surgery, the Clydesdale Bank, and a
carry-out chip shop, you can find the garage and filling station, The Primary School is in North Street. There are two churches in the village you can find a Post office, chemist, joiner, grocery,
bakery and butchery shops You will also find bowling green and Tennis Court.
